Jurong Port, Singapore: Semi-submersible oil rig at West Jurong Anchorage

The semi-submersible oil rig "Aban Pearl" will be at West Jurong Anchorage from 3 to 20 April 2008.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) Port Marine Notice No.74 of 2008, works will be carried out 24 hours daily - including Sundays - within an area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
A) 01 deg. 14.750'N / 103 deg. 38.250'E
B) 01 deg. 14.750'N / 103 deg. 38.480'E
C) 01 deg. 14.520'N / 103 deg. 38.480'E
D) 01 deg. 14.520'N / 103 deg. 38.250'E

Work on the oil rig entails removal of 04 sets of anchor and anchor chains at the anchorage; crew change; familiarization and preparation for drydocking at Keppel FELS.

The safety boat will be in attendance during the entire period of stay of “Aban Pearl” at the anchorage.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
(a) keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
(b) maintain a proper lookout;
(c) proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
(d) maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control) and VHF Channel 68 (West Control); and
(e) communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if required.
